Italian-Lebanese wedding in Chicago Perla & John Tripi

Perla & John

As a photographer, capturing this Italian-Lebanese wedding on a starry October night in Chicago felt like stepping into a cinematic dream. The entire event radiated a rich, almost tangible energy — an elegant fusion of cultures and love set against the city’s iconic skyline, glimmering in the distance.

I started with wide shots, framing the venue with its stunning views of the Chicago skyline. The night had a deep, velvety darkness that made every light, every candle, and every red rose glow even more vividly. The red roses stood out like passionate brushstrokes against the night, and the candles cast a warm, intimate glow, bathing everyone in soft, golden light. I zoomed in to capture the intricate candle designs and the lush floral arrangements — they were meticulously crafted, each rose telling its own story of romance and elegance.

The bride and groom were a vision: he in his classic Italian style, effortlessly charming with a look of pride and adoration; she, wrapped in an ethereal beauty, radiating warmth and elegance, carrying her heritage with every graceful step. I captured close-ups of their hands clasping, her delicate henna designs peeking through, symbolizing Lebanese tradition.

The Italian guests raised their glasses in toasts and cheers, while Lebanese guests celebrated with joyful dabke dancing. The rhythm of Lebanese music filled the air, and I caught the delight on the guests’ faces as they were swept up in the lively energy. The bride’s friends and family joined in traditional dance, and I made sure to capture the joy and motion, each frame alive with celebration.

I captured them from different angles, playing with the reflections of candlelight and city lights to make the moment feel timeless and intimate. It was a powerful, romantic wedding and every click of the shutter felt like capturing a piece of their love story.

This wedding was more than just a beautiful event; it was a celebration of two worlds coming together. As their photographer, I felt honored to capture those details — the merging traditions, the genuine smiles, and the passion that filled the night.
